Choir Peformance
It was the performance night and I was at home. I checked the time it was 5:30 so I started to get ready and left. I reached school at 5:55. I was so excited to see my friends as I jumped up and down. Once we got on the bus the whole ride I was looking out the window as I could see the reflection of the bus. When we got there we squashed inside a room and then my line was going up on stage first. I was so freaked out. I was alright in the room but as I got up on stage I wanted to fidget but I didn’t. I sat in my place and looked for the teachers I spotted none but then I saw Andre’s parents they smiled down at him. I kept looking for the teachers but still I found none. We started the national anthem and I gulped and then started into the song. It was so scary my face was burning up as I touched it with my hand. We kept going through the songs and my legs ached from standing up. I was so relieved to sit down but tried to keep my hands on my lap as I fidgeted. Song by song it went and I watched the acts. I stared at the conductor but people infront blocked my view. When it was finished my line went off the stage first and we sqashed up in the room again. Chit chatter went on. I was so relieved it was finished. We reached school at 10 o clock, once I saw my parents I ran to them and we drove back home. I had a big dinner as I was starving and then went into deep sleep as I was exhausted. It was a great night and I had fun.

Recycled Art
Before After
This is our Recycled art. We used old clothes and ripped them in strips and made this plait. Then we rolled it into a circle and sewed it and then it turns into a placemat. I used many different colours in mine. I had lots of fun making it.

Jigsaw Art Self Assesment
Room 15 Jigsaw Art
Self Assessment Form
1.I have used enlargement skills to create a jigsaw artwork with our class:
I folded my publish piece lightly and my small piece to get the right enlargement in the right places.
2. I have used a range of pastel techniques:
I did a lot of blending because there can’t be one colour in only one place and I also did so much smudging in places because there were heaps of different colours and it looked like strips of colours so I had to do a lot of smudging.
3. I have looked closely at the colours on the small piece and used the same colours on the enlargement: I looked at every teeny tiny colour on the small piece and added it to my big one there were heaps of colours everywhere in my big piece so I believe I did look closely to the colours.
4. I have blended the pastels using different colours:
I blended the white and dark blue to make a lighter blue than dark blue but darker than light blue. I also blended in some colours to make some impact in one place.
5. What I would do differently next time:
I would like to see others and see how my bit fixes in and make it more accurate.
6. Other comments (what I like best and why, what I don’t like and why):
Tina: I like how made it accurate and I used different colours and different techniques maybe next time I could make it look more 3D on my 1st one. Maybe I could see others and see how my one fits in and make it related to the other pieces so it fits in perfectly.
Aho:You used different techniques and it made a lot of impact and it looked 3D maybe next time you could use some light blue as well instead of just dark blue.
Miss Lewis’ Comments (leave this space for Miss Lewis to complete):
Thank you for completing two jigsaw pieces Tina, you really helped the class in doing so. I agree with what you have said, you did look very closely at your small piece, and it shows. Your colours look accurate and you have done some nice blending. I agree with your suggestion for next time. It would have been good to see how the enlargements fit together before focussing on the colour.

Jigsaw Art My Experience
This is our jigsaw art. We copied Warren Pohatu’s fish painting but we did the painting in pastel. A jigsaw art is when each person (in our class Rm 15) got an A4 paper and did our draft, to help us we had folded the paper in quarters and we also got a teeny tiny piece in black and white which we copied on our draft. Once we were done our draft we got our final copy. We had done light pencil lines to show where to draw and then we started with pastel we used different techniques like blending, smudging and even we used the pastel on the side to make an effect as well as we couldn’t have one colour on one place because then it wouldn’t make impact. We had to make it 3D which means the paper couldn’t show or then we would have to do everything dark on your paper. Everybody had a great individual but once we put it together, wait we couldn't, because Miss Lewis mucked up the numbers, by accident, it wasn’t her fault, but it kinda was, but not really. So some very smart people on the mat put the little pieces together which helped us put our publish pieces together by that order. We had butterflies in our stomach’s because we were so excited to see how’d the finish art would look like. It looked like rubbish all the lines were places you could hardly see the fish but to be true it was okay everybody had worked really hard. I especially liked the last one and I found out it was Miss Lewis’s pastel art, she could be an artist. I guess we all did pretty well but maybe next time we could put all our drafts together to see how it fits in and make it better on our publish. This was our whole experience. We learnt some techniques like smudging to create a effect to help us when we do our bit. I had finished 2 peices.

Physical Eduacation
Physical Education
PE : Basketball
I feel most proud in doing basketbal because basketball is my favourite sport. I learnt tricks and the bongo drums and have also learnt the ref’s actions when it is the other’s ball. I also learnt how to spin the ball on my finger for at least 4 seconds. It was fun and it was cool having a professional teacher. The more practice I got, the better I got. We learnt how to dribble correctly. It was really fun.
PE: Swimming
I am really proud of my swimming because when I started I wasn’t so good and then I was better at it when we started. I learnt freestyle and many other skills. The skill I liked most was the dolphin one when we go down then up like a dolphin. Now I can swim through hoops. It was really fun and now I know how to swim. Sometimes my hair got in my face so I had to tie it up. Floating on my back and looking up at the sky was really relaxing and felt good. It was really hard for me to swim on my side so I used the board.

Behind the Curtain
THANK YOU!
On behalf of my class we just want to say thank you for inviting us to your production. We thought that it was very thoughtful of you to hire the bus for us. We enjoyed your musical Behind the Curtain, especially the humor with Wally and Mavis. I liked the slap dances, they were great. Thanks for inviting us and it was really cool. I like how the choir didn’t take over the main actors. From now on, my favourite production would be behind the curtain.
Sincerely by: TinaI loved the play!!!

Cross Country Poem
Cross Country was finally here,
The races were announced and I went to cheer,
As I heard the races go on and on,
The clappers were passed and chucked and thrown around,
As we clapped so hard and screamed and shout,
People were running as fast as they could,
I heard my race and it was announced,
I blazed off and was cheered on,
As she said “GO” I went as fast as I could,
It was a long way around but I didn’t stop for a breath or two,
I sprinted, I jogged, I even ran but never stopped,
As we came in I tried to catch up to the 1st,
But I couldn’t I came 2nd,
I was proud and cheered on the rest,
I was proud and cheered on the rest,
The hard work paid off,
My mum came home and I showed off,
My brother came 1st but I was still proud for me and you,
The race was over but I was still proud,
It’s finished it’s done and I’ve had fun.

Cross Country Recount
Cross Country
I was all jumpy and had butterflies in my stomach once I found out Cross Country was tomorrow. On the day I was freaked out. I chucked my shorts in my bag and got ready really fast for school. Once I arrived I waited till the 8:30 bell rang! Once it rang I rushed into my classroom and I gave my notice. Then I got the job to collect the notices and once I had collected a little I checked the board and cross country was right after roll. After bible I was so so excited and bursting with happiness but deep inside I was so scared and nervous. The teacher quickly ran through the roll and we went outside. To keep warm I had my big warm jumper on. The year 1 and 2 race was announced. I cheered them on with the big clappers which were passed around. After race, after race, finally the year 5 girls went on. I quickly passed my jumper to a trustful friend. I wanted to come first and blasted off once the teacher said “GO”. My friend flew past really fast. I went to catch up and then she slowed down. She had got a big stitch from running so fast but I still kept running as fast as my legs could go. Fardosa caught up as we ran together but she lightly ran faster and became further ahead than me but the race was nearly over so I sprinted behind her. But unluckily I wasn’t able to catch up so she came 1st but I came 2nd. I was really proud of my friend and me too. As I finished my race I saw Nejwa come in so I cheered her on and congratulated her too. Finally the race was over and other people came in and all were congratulated 3rd, 2nd and 1st too. I nearly forgot to mention we got medals too. As we came inside everybody got a certificate for participation. It didn’t really matter if they didn’t come 1st 2nd or 3rd it just mattered that they tried there best and for that they were all great big winners. I was so tried and luckily morning tea was right after. I ate my food. After all my effort I put into training I was proud that I came 2nd. It’s over with and were done and I got a present from my mum and my dad. My mum took me to a restaurant to have a meal and we enjoyed it and came back home. I’m still expecting my dad’s gift he said he’ll give it in the weekend.

Character Description
Evil witch Wicked is coming.
She is an ugly moley old lady with beady eyes that burn your eyes if you look into them. You can easily recognise her by her crooked pointy nose with an ugly mole on it which even she can’t stand to look at. Even though she has wrinkles her terrifying pimples can still be seen. Always she is seen carrying her cat Gribbles to use him as a shield.
Pure evil can be seen in her eyes, queen of the dead. She has a wicked thought. She’s mean and nasty just like her mother and sister who are dead in the soil. If you like at her you will certainly know she plans evil and she will kill you secretly if you come to stay a night at her house. My key’s unlock to another dimension where the queen of all witches lies unseen.
Her days are spent making potions to kill!! kill!! kil!! She hopes to defeat the king & queen of Oz and rule in their place. She like’s to spend day’s capturing innocent people so she can turn people into flying monkey’s.

My Speech 2014
Animal Testing is wrong
The other day I watched an animal testing video. These cruel animal testers were doing a blind deprivation test on this helpless infant monkey. His eyes were stitched shut with sewing material and his head was bound up. A plastic contraption was taped to his head. Screeching, banging, sharp, sharp sounds were playing that would make anyone flinch. What kind of people are they? Don’t they have feelings? They could’ve worked with a person but it was easier to break a poor mother’s heart, to ruin this infant monkey’s unstarted life. My purpose today is to convince you not to buy animal tested products. Tell you the truth behind animal testing and inform you about the suffering these poor, helpless, innocent animals go through.
These animals have rights and shouldn’t be treated like nothing. Imagine being taken to a place where you are locked up, with barely any room for movement, in a laboratory cage. You are taken every once in a while to get your hair shaved off, and things rubbed into your skin that potentially make your hair never grow back or maybe it burns you and make’s your skin bleed. Or maybe you get a substance put into your eyes and are kept with that substance in your eyes for two weeks or more and you go blind.
The result of animal experiments often prove unreliable and misleading when applied to humans, It’s wasteful. After Animal Testing there is still the suffering of people waiting for effective cures by misleading experiments and squandering precious money, time, and resources. This is because animals bodies are different to us. They don’t get the same diseases that we get and they often have very different reactions to drugs and chemicals. Animals body’s work differently to ours, they are not little humans. Chimpanzees, for example with whom we share 98% of our DNA, they don’t suffer from fatal forms of aids, hepatitis b or common malaria-diseases which kill millions of people every year. 92% of experimental drugs that are safe and effective in animals fail in human clinical trials because they are too dangerous or don’t work.
Hundreds and thousands of animals are poisoned and blinded and killed every year in outdated product tests. We are ruining poor, helpless little animal’s live’s for things we want not even need, for entertainment, Most people think animals are tested for medicines but only a small percentage is medical testing. It’s mostly for cosmetics, personal care products, household cleaning products and even fruit juice and many, many more products and because some of these products don’t even work they are tested on for heaps more medicine’s.
It just really bothers me that animal testing is still allowed today. Animal’s have rights and animal tests are often unreliable and only a small percentage is medical testing, I don’t understand why it happens and because I’m a pretty smart girl and I don’t understand I definitely know it should stop. How can people live knowing animal’s are being killed every second? Even if a product has blinded an animal, it can still be marketed to you. Please help by not buying animal tested products and make donations to websites who support animal testing is wrong.
This is my speech for the speech competition at school. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the finals.

Best Person Ever
Writing Sample Term 2 2014 28 May 9:30
Best Person Ever (This Person Rocks)
My favourite person is Miss Percy well because when I come to meet her she talks and answers my question’s. Even though Miss Percy (Emma Percy)is no longer my teacher I loved it when she was. She has a permanent smile which makes me happy. When she get’s frustrated it makes me chuckle. Most importantly I love annoying her. Her brown eyes glimmer in the sun and she teaches me a lot like reading, writing, art and most importantly maths (maths is my favourite subject). When it get’s windy her long brunette silky hair flows in the wind, she’s beautiful, elegant and has a skinny, tall, slim body. These words are just descriptions but she’s more gorgeous and caring in real life. Miss Percy usually wears skinny jeans and a white clean T-shirt and a jacket and a pair of clean converse.
This person is a kind, caring, gentle, calm and helps me with my education and listen to me when I have something to say. When I’m sad she make’s me laugh. She’s perfect.
She is in charge of sport teams and sport games and I LOVE SPORTS (but I hate netball). I always like to tryout because with Miss Percy I’m not shy and that she’s in charge. She is busy bee (bzzzz) like Mrs Mellick (my teacher).
Her Job is at May Road School and I am a student at May Road School too. Her culture, well really I don’t remember and she has lot’s of cultures. She has no kids or a husband. She’s a single woman (Girls rule the world). I love her in a friend way or a teacher, student way.

I'm sure after you read this Miss Percy will be your favourite person.

Moon Presentation
We are learning about space this term we picked to concentrate on the moon and does it change shape ? or does it not ? We had to perform our slideshow to the whole class and me and my group made this. Hope you like it. I learnt that the moon does not change shape and the moon does not have it's own light. The sun reflects on the moon to give it light.

Blogging Rm 15
Blue/white hat facts, Red hat feelings, Yellow hat positive, Black hat negative, Green hat new ideas.
Welcome to a place of magic and wonder!
A blog is like a weblog which is like an exercise book where you can put your work put on my blog the entire world can see
We have just launched our blog on our chromebooks.
We can do many things on our blog and here is some of the facts White Hat : A blog is a place which we can post our work and and get feedback . We can transfer our work from our drive to our blog, we can also look at other’s blogs. When we post on our blog it is out there for everyone in the entire world to see and you can sometimes get feedback . We can locate the country which people come from who have been on our blog. The teacher is the administer and we are the author which means when we have posted comments on our work the teacher can remove it and she can double check it. Anybody can see our blog and if they give bad comments we just have to ignore it. Most importantly do not give private information. On the side it says the month and how many post’s you have added and also last year’s work . When you post work underneath it there is the full date for when you have posted your work .
This is my feelings about my blog Red hat feelings :
I feel proud having my own blog and getting nice comments. I feel excited and nervous because the entire world can see including your parents and teachers. I might get mad and angry and particularly sad if I get bad comments. I feel excited because I can see others blogs. I feel excited but a bit scared because people from old schools and others which live far can see my blog. Extatic and anxious too, to see what people comment.
Here is some positive things about blogs (what I think) Yellow hat great and positive stuff : The awesome part of blogs is you can use ideas from others blogs and possibly you will get comments from your relatives. The positive thing is when you read others or your own blog you get better at reading. When you write and post your work and write comments you get better at typing and also spelling and I nearly forgot your writing too.
Here is some negative stuff which may happen : Black hat bad things : You may get bad comments and you might feel angry and mad. You might accidently give personal information. If you say you have a skateboard , ipad and many other expensive things people might come and rob you. There is many people which are bad in the world. You might chat to bad people in the comments and they might say meet me after school.
Some new ideas and cool things we should have on our blog Green hat New Creative Ideas : I can put up things about PB4L (positive behaviour for learning). Get ideas from others blogs. Put up pictures and slideshows or clips to show. Look how much you have improved. Remember when you get older also you can describe yourself and put up a picture. Use our blog like a time capsule. Comment and communicate with other’s. Keep putting our work up.
